For our publisher clients

Your direct messaging just got a major upgrade.

We are combining the RAD Dialer with done-for-you direct messaging, and putting our full focus on Instagram, the platform that has far outperformed the rest.

Here is the picture.

There are local businesses all over your towns who should already know your name. Starting now, we go introduce you.

We open a real conversation with each one on Instagram, we work that conversation for you, and when a business is ready we book the appointment straight onto your calendar.

Every business we talk to also lands on your RAD Dialer, warm and ready, for any you would like to reach by phone yourself.

That is a genuine one-two punch. The message lands first, so every follow up is warm from the start. You are simply circling back on a note they have already seen, never cold calling a stranger.

01 What's new

What changed?

Of everywhere we have messaged, Instagram has come out on top by a wide margin. So we've decided to concentrate everything, including the real prospect data we now invest in, on the one platform that is working.

Here is what that gets you.

  • We are investing in real local business dataInstead of messaging whoever happened to follow your account, your outreach now goes to real local businesses in your own towns, chosen because they actually fit your market.
  • We start and work the conversations for you, and book appointments to your calendarReal messages to real local businesses, worked by us, aimed at real booked time on your calendar.
  • Your RAD Dialer, wired straight into InstagramEvery business we message lands on your dialer, ideally with your name already familiar to them, ready the moment you want to reach them.

Real local data, real conversations, booked time on your calendar, and a warm list on your dialer. That is the upgrade.

Why LinkedIn and Facebook are retired for now. We ran direct messaging on both, and both gave us diminishing returns. Splitting our effort three ways only watered down all three, so we shelved them for now and Instagram gets our full attention.

02 Your list

A closer look at the list we are building for you

Your list comes from a maintained local business data pipeline, built from two sources:

  • Advertiser spend dataBusinesses already putting real money into local advertising. They have a budget, a marketing habit, and a reason to talk to you.
  • Local business listing dataVerified operating businesses with an address, a category and a phone number.

Both are geo-scoped to your own towns and screened to genuine local businesses before a single name reaches your list. That data is a real monthly investment, and we carry it, because a list of real local businesses in your market is worth far more than a follower list ever was.

You stay in control of who we talk to. Send us your current advertiser list and name anyone else you want left out. Your advertisers, your relationships, anyone you would rather approach yourself. They are excluded before we start.

This is a curated local list, not a mass blast. We would rather work a few hundred of the right local businesses in your towns than spray thousands of names that go nowhere.

03 Which account

Business account or personal account

This one is yours. It is simply about which account your messages come from and how they read on the other end.

Already connected with us? Then you are set here. Choose the business account option in the form below, and you can skip the switch steps that follow.

What we recommend

A business account

  • Keeps your personal Instagram personal
  • The message comes from the publication, which is what a local business owner expects to see
  • Gives you follower and engagement data a personal profile does not
  • Switching your account to a business account is free, takes about two minutes, and you keep every follower and every post
Also fine

Your personal account

  • The message comes from you personally, which some publishers prefer
  • Often reads warmer, because people in town know your face
  • Works well if your personal profile already looks like a publisher's profile

Either way, we write in your voice. The message reads like you sent it, because as far as the recipient is concerned, you did.

How to switch to a business account

  1. Open your Instagram profile and tap the menu. The three lines in the top right corner, then Settings and privacy.
  2. Find Account type and tools.Scroll to the bottom of the settings list. On some versions it reads Account, then Switch account type.
  3. Choose Switch to professional account, then Business. If it offers Creator or Business, pick Business. Creator is built for influencers and gives you fewer of the tools we use.
  4. Pick a category and skip the rest.Marketing Agency, Advertising/Marketing, or Media all work well. You can skip connecting a Facebook page and you can skip adding contact details.
  5. Tell us it is done.Note it in the form below or just reply to the email. Then we'll connect it on our end.
04 What this does for you

What this does for you

  • Respectful by designAnyone who does not reply hears from us at most twice, then we stop. A curated local list, worked steadily, never a mass blast.
  • Almost none of your timeWe build the list, run the conversations, and handle the follow up. You show up for the booked appointments.
  • You are always in controlPause it, narrow it, or stop it any day, for any reason. Your advertisers and anyone you name are excluded before we start.

A realistic word on appointments

This is a steady build, not an overnight flood. The early weeks are about opening real conversations, and booked appointments grow from there as those conversations mature. Worked consistently, it becomes a nice supplemental source of appointments on your calendar.

You can see it working any time

Your Publisher's Playbook has a weekly update for this. A quick visual of what moved this week, and a short summary underneath, refreshed every week. It is there whenever you want to look, and you never have to ask anybody how it is going.

If somebody asks to be left alone. Sometimes a business owner writes back "who is this" or "take me off." That is a normal part of local outreach and it is already handled. They get one short, courteous reply, that business is stopped right there, and it never becomes something you have to manage.

04b The messages

We have already written everything

The whole sequence is written for you, in your voice, so this is not one more thing on your plate. Here is exactly what goes out under your name. Nothing hidden.

The two messages everyone gets

If someone never replies, these two are all they ever receive.

Message 1 · the opener
Seeing a local business on IG always makes me pause. Love what you're doing. Great to connect! Happy to support however I can. I'll check back with you soon!
Message 2 · a few days later, if no reply
Back as promised! 😃

Been chatting with my clients about this lately, so I'd love your take... Is your bigger obstacle right now getting more people in the door, or getting the right people in the door?

If they reply, the conversation continues

Each of these only sends after the business owner writes back.

If they reply to message 2
That makes sense. Typically, what usually makes the biggest difference is either being more visible, or being seen as an expert in your area. Is this something you're currently working on?
If they reply again
I see, a lot of local business owners default to that language at first. What we typically help with is strengthening how a business is positioned locally, so people see them as the obvious choice. That usually means combining trusted local exposure with a few supporting channels, all focused on attracting better customers, not just more inquiries. Would you be opposed to a quick conversation to see if this could make sense for your business?
When they say yes
Super! The easiest and fastest way is to just show you on a quick call. Here's my direct booking link: [your booking link]. Grab a spot and confirm here in this chat once you do?

How we answer the most common replies

“Not right now”
Totally fair, no pressure at all. If it is ever useful, I can send you a free check that shows whether your business comes up when people look you up through AI, since that is the newest place folks go before they pick someone local. Want me to send it over, or would you rather I just check back down the road?
“Who is this?”
Fair question to ask out of the blue. I run a local marketing business here and help local businesses get seen and known around town. You came up as a local owner doing good work, that is the whole reason I reached out. What kind of work do you do?
“What do you do? Are you selling something?”
Mostly I help local businesses get seen and positioned as the go-to name around here, across a few local channels that back it up. Sometimes it is a fit, plenty of times it is not. Are you at a point where getting in front of more local customers would help, or are you pretty steady right now?
“Is this a bot?”
Not a bot, you are talking to the actual person. The first note goes out to local owners I want to connect with, but everything after it is me. Anything you want to ask?

The only thing filled in for each account is your booking link. If any word here is not how you would say it, tell us and we will change it. Nothing goes out that you have not seen.
